Guildford Heat turned in a strong second half performance to prevent a shock at The Spectrum on Sunday afternoon.

The Heat trailed at half time against bottom placed club Birmingham Panthers, but eventually came through comfortable winners 107-88.

Guildford had actually begun the match well as a 13-1 run put them in control. However, an 18-5 close to the first quarter by the visitors saw the Panthers lead 24-29.

And this lead was consolidated in the second quarter with Birmingham knocking down five three-pointers to go in at half time 45-52 in front.

It was a different Heat after the interval though. A 12-7 run tied the scores at 59-59 and a 19-3 burst to end the third quarter saw them well on top 78-62 with just the final stanza to play.

There was no way back for Panthers after that as Tony Dorsey led the home side with 24-points and 12 boards to victory.
