Team Birmingham Panthers picked up their sixth victory of the BBL Championship campaign thanks to a 97-100 victory over the BiG Storage Cheshire Jets at the Northgate Arena on Sunday evening.

The Jets led 91-83 going into the closing stages of the game, but an 11-2 run from the Panthers, including two long-range three-pointers from Lekan Popoola, bought the score back to 95-94 with twenty-four seconds remaining.

A further three-pointer from Adam Williams after Gianni Costantiello had bagged two free-throws for the Jets bought the scores level at 97-97.

With the game looking destined to go into overtime, it was left to Daniel Sandell to launch a huge three-pointer from the halfway line as time expired to steal the victory for the Panthers.

Matthew Otten led the Jets scoring with 26 points, but it was Williams who led all scorers in the game with an impressive 30-point haul.
