Guildford Heat kept their stranglehold on second position in the BBL Championship table thanks to a comfortable 106-82 victory over the Everton Tigers at The Spectrum on Sunday afternoon.

The Heat started the stronger and a 12-5 burst midway through the opening period took the score out to 21-12. The Tigers began to claw their way back into the game, and a 8-4 run to close out the first half bought the visitors to within seven points at 50-43 at the half.

A 10-5 burst to start the second half for the Tigers bought them to within four points at 57-53, but they were never to get any closer as the Heat rattled off a 21-4 tear to take the score out to 78-57.

A 9-3 run to close out the game for the home side in the final minute handed them the

all-important victory.

Tony Dorsey led the Heat scoring with 23 points, while David Robertson led the Tigers scoring with 23 points as well.
