The basement battle between the PAWS London Capital and Team Birmingham Panthers went in favour of the latter as they kept their playoff hopes alive with a 60-64 victory. It was their second win over the Capital in less than a month, and gives them the head-to-head between the sides.

Birmingham favourite Rob Paternostro led the way with 16 points, whilst Dan Sandell had 14 and Williamz Omope added 11. It was former Birmingham player Santa Ataha that led all scorers with 20 for the hosts.

The Panthers led for large parts of the game and had a 17-20 edge after the opening stanza. The Londoners then opened the second quarter with the first 10 points as they looked to assert themselves on the game, but their visitors dug in and rattled off the last 6 points of the half to see the teams knotted at 34.

The game was broken open in the third quarter as Williamz Omope netted 7 points to inspire the Panthers on a 14-2 push that made the score 40-53 and they maintained a commanding lead at 44-57 going into the decisive quarter.

The game was all but won when the Panthers scored 6 unanswered points early in the fourth, although 5 points from Jerome Stancil and a late rally that saw the Capital go 10-2 in the last five minutes and restrict their second-city rivals to just 7 fourth quarter points was not enough as they got no closer than the final score.
