The PAWS London Capital snapped a three game losing streak with a resounding 89-61 win over the Worcester Wolves at the Capital City Academy. The Wolves, meanwhile, remain bottom of the table as this was their third consecutive defeat.
Wes Miller led the Capital with 31 points, including five three-pointers, and was backed up by 21 from Sam Bradley. It was those two that opened up a tight game as they each hit a pair of triples in the second quarter to extend what had been a 19-16 first quarter lead to 45-33 at the half.
The Wolves closed the gap at the start of the third stanza as Anthony Paez made 6 points in a 16-5 opening that made the score 49-50, but the Wolves couldn't edge in front. London closed the quarter with a 13-2 run that stretched the score back out to 63-51 and deflated the visitors.
The Wolves scored the opening basket of the fourth quarter, but the Capital went on a decisive 21-3 surge behind Miller, who had 5 of those, and Bradley, who sank a further pair of treys, to win the game.
